This is aimed at this specific age group due to the genre of the music it plays which is the most current music which is constantly on the radio and therefore the music that most of this audience would generally listen to in the everyday world. The first music video shown on the channel was the Buggles "Video killed the radio star"which used original technology and basic graphics. The type of music that MTV plays now is a wide variety of music, such as, pop, RnB, rap and indie. Mainly chart music, as it is a mainstream channel, it attracts a wide audience and does this in order to keep views up and attract as many people possible. MTV owns many programmes, including Geordie Shore, The Valleys, My Super Sweet 16, MTV cribs, Catfish and many more. Although the main channel MTV, there are many sub- channels, including MTV base, MTV classic, MTV dance, MTV hits, MTV music and MTV Rocks.The MTV logo is simple with the colours only being in black and white. It is very clear to read and the letters MTV stand out. This illustrates what the MTV channel is like, bold and stands out from other music channels with is vast and varied music artists.

Capital brand extended to form a new nationwide digital radio station by rebranding Choice FM as Capital Xtra.The Capital FM logo consists of the radio station number to identify the name with the radio station channel. It also includes the caption "The UK'S NO.1 HIT MUSIC STATION" in order to appeal to a wider range of audience as it is informing them of its popularity. The capital Fm radio logo is the same as the Capital TV logo. They are the same because it is easily recognized that they are the same company and are therefore playing the same thing. The word hit is in a different colour to the rest of the writing, this is to outline the type of music in which they play.
VIVA first launched in Germany in 1993 and was owned by VIVA media AG and later taken over in 2004 by Viacom who are a global American mass media company, the 5th largest broadcasting and cable company in terms of revenue. VIVA is a music and entertainment channel that launched in October 2009 and is the first sister channels of MTV to be launched on Freeview. VIVA does not only broadcast music and shows such as 'The UK top 40' but also series of TV shows such as; Scrubs, Teen Mom, Catfish the TV show and the most famous of all - Jackass. The main target audience for VIVA being around 16 - 35, through broadcasting modern pop chart music will indefinably appeal to a younger audience but also loyal fans may tune in hoping to hear music they know and love. The logo itself being bright iconic it would create a memorable image in the audiences mind, this would be helpful when trying to distinguish their channel from their competitors. Potentially having a iconic bold logo would create a unique selling point among the brand and their individuality.
